In an ever-evolving realm of technology we are pretty much forced to evolve with it. Otherwise, we might just be left in the dust, no matter what industry we work in.
As a matter of fact, there is not one company or business that has not moved their business online by now, even if only for marketing purposes. Needless to say, a whole new field of jobs has resulted from this: the social media online specialists which includes bloggers, web masters, marketing geniuses, SEO experts, and many others who don’t miss a beat when it comes to the technological evolution.
During the course of my training and work as multimedia journalist I have learned that the more I know, the better I can perform my job. Needless to say, my job now includes all functions and tasks associated with a meaningful online presence– for anyone!

Aside from that, seeing the whole picture makes all the pieces fit together so much better. Because realistically, one cannot produce the perfect content in the perfect format if he or she does not understand the back-end of a web site.
